THE GROWLERS SIX @ LA WATERFRONT

The Growlers Six, as we all know damn well it to be Beach Goth Six, thankfully was held in a new location with plenty of space to roam around, restrooms, professional security who are pleasant and aren’t into bullying fans, plenty of food options and most of all, a diverse mix of great bands. Music fans of all ages descended upon the LA Waterfront in San Pedro where Mike Watt just had to walk down the street to play his set.

From the anticipation and excitement of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grateful Shred passing out joints at exactly 4:20, the thrilling Wall of Death, not knowing what you will see or hear in the Death of a Clown tent, the words of wisdom of Jonathan Richman, Beth Ditto eating someone’s pizza and giving a shout out to Allison Wolfe of Ex Stains, the fun times with The B-52s, Modest Mouse and Butthole Surfers and so much more-it appears to be the right direction for The Growlers’ vision.
