Sweet Relief Musicians Fund are known for their annual “Best Fests,” but Sunday evening at The Fonda Theatre, a new fest was born. “Strange 80s” was hosted by Finn Wolfhard of Netflix’s Stranger Things fame. Wolfhard has his own band Calpurnia did a solid cover of New Order’s “Age of Consent.” Chelsea Talmadge, also of Stranger Things, lent her pipes to the cause along with Dylan Minnette (of another Netflix hit, 13 Reasons Why) with his band Wallows who did The Smiths proud.
Of course, there were some pretty well-known musicians and comedians, but one of the biggest highlights had to be girls ranging from ages 3-11 singing “Kids in America.”
