NEW ORDER + POLICA @ THE SANTA BARBARA BOWL
Imagine a world without New Order – Boring. The iconic sounds that have been bestowed upon us by the music fairies have kept us dancing and moving for years. And it never ever gets old.
Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert, Phil Cunningham and Tom Chapman were warmly welcomed by music lovers at The Santa Barbara Bowl as we danced the night away until the hard 10:00 p.m. curfew. It needs to be mentioned that unlike most venues, The Santa Barbara Bowl sells very good wine, with vineyards so close by. It also helps with dancing.
It didn’t take long for people sitting down to stand up and move. With heavy hits like “The Perfect Kiss,” “Bizarre Love Triangle,” “Blue Monday,” and “Ceremony,” we were reminded of what an impact New Order still has upon us. New Order couldn’t possibly play all their hits with the time allotted. However, Sumner and Morris (original members of Joy Division if you didn’t already know) have made a point to have the encore dedicated to Ian Curtis and played “Decades” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart.” More musical fairy dust please.
Poliça opened and are also headed back to Coachella this weekend.
