On a cool and cloudy evening at the Greek Theatre, Mac DeMarco and his unique stylings of rock and jazz were just what the crowd needed get up, get moving, and remind everyone that summer is just around the corner. What covers will they play? Which side will DeMarco surf on? DeMarco‚Äôs guitar work was nothing short of impressive and his play changed on a dime – melodic, dirty to jazzy. To categorize DeMarco into one genre would be a disservice to the man and his band. Aside from the music, DeMarco and his fans have a unique bond – as if they are all in on a joke together. With verbal and visual cues, he constantly addressed the crowd, as though they’re a bunch of friends catching up on all that’s gone on since they last saw each other.
