The tour de force known as Dr. Dog made a return trip to Los Angeles and The Wiltern Theatre on the heels of their latest release The Psychedelic Swamp. The indie-rock sextet out of Philadelphia dazzled both with their stellar set and colorful light show.

Dr. Dog started off the night with a trio of “back” songs, including “Holes in My Back,” “Fire on My Back” and “Bring My Baby Back.” The group continued with a mix of old and new tunes from their extensive library of music, with the crowd singing and dancing along to songs such as “Nellie,” “Jackie Wants a Black Eye” and “Distant Light,” among a slew of other greats. Bassist/vocalist Toby Leaman would join the fans in the festivities by crowd-surfing during the foot-stompin’ number “Lonesome” to close out the show.

Fellow Philadelphians and indie folk-rockers Hop Along kicked off the night with a fiery set led by Frances Quinlan and her beautiful smoky, raspy vocals. The group continues to tour strong in support of their 2015 release Painted Shut.
