He’s got that something special. Garrett Borns has moved to Los Angeles where he was warmly embraced last night at The El Rey Theatre by music fans who know a good thing when they see and hear it. BØRNS played electrifying pop music from his album Dopamine, including the title track with which he prefaced with “This next one is about a drug that all you guys are on right now.”
After closing the set with “Electric Love” BØRNS came back out to perform an encore which included a cover of Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets” which has seemed to become a setlist staple for them.
Fellow LA local Jacob Summers aka Avid Dancer, and his bandmates started off the night performing their breezy indie pop tunes from debut album 1st Bath to a decent sized crowd that kept growing as their 40 minute set went on.
