EAGLES OF DEATH METAL @ THE TERAGRAM BALLROOM
Photos and words by Debi Del Grande
Rockers united at The Teragram Ballroom for a second evening to hear the sweet sounds of Eagles of Death Metal. It has been far too long for the latest album Zipper Down to arrive. But we forgive. Because with Jesse Hughes (aka Boots Electric/The Devil) at the helm and his longtime kindred spirit Josh Homme (Baby Duck/QOTSA) sitting behind the drum kit as happy as can be with some cow bell, the EODM live show was a breath of fresh rocking air that seems to be fading away in the music world to today. Guitarist David Catching (aka Darlin’ Dave/QOTSA) shredded like it was nobody’s business and bassist Matt McJunkins (A Perfect Circle/Puscifer/The Beta Machine/great hair) never stopped moving. Boots Electric guitarist Eden Galindo also made several appearances on stage, adding some extra vigour to the mix. One fan asked “Do they really do a Duran Duran cover?” Why yes they do and it’s spectacular. The Orange amps were abound and the show was being recorded.
