For “shoegazers” and fans of excellent music, the most anticipated show of this year was the return of Ride. The thought of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence “Loz” Colbert, and Steve Queralt together again had fans eager to hear the English band live and probably for the first time. After a warm up at the Roxy, the guys played a Localchella show at the Fox Theatre in Pomona. Their music is definitely appreciated these days and here is hoping they will come back soon with new music and the songs that have taken us on so many escapes.

Eagulls are a proper fit to support Ride on their tour. George Mitchell’s haunting vocals cascaded over the crowd and fans lined up at the merch table after the show to have their vinyls signed. And let’s not forget Part Time Punks DJing before and between sets. Only Michael Stock could have a collection perfect for this show.
