Towards the end of the encore, Adam Franklin (vocals/guitar/pedal master) looked upon the mostly giddy crowd who was bouncing all over the place and flashed a big smile. Looks like England’s Swervedriver felt the Los Angeles love. Franklin and lead guitarist Jimmy Hartridge make it look so easy. Bassist Steve George isn’t on this tour, but filling in is Mick Quinn of the now defunct Supergrass. Drummer Mikey Jones pounded away as Swervedriver played new tunes from their latest solid album I Wasn’t Born to Lose You. How about an FYF appearance?
LA’s Gateway Drugs is a perfect band to be on tour with Swervedriver. Their debut album Magick Spells was just released and siblings Liv, Gabe, and Noa Niles (children of The Knackās Prescott Niles), along with Blues Williams are a force and should not be missed when they return.
