Adam Bainbridge, aka Kindess, stopped by the El Rey Theatre last night and turned the whole place into quite the dance party. Everyone on stage and in the crowd was moving practically non-stop the entire set. Kelela, who collaborated with Kindness on his last release Otherness, came out to perform with the band including a cover of Mya’s “It’s All About Me.” In addition to singing and dancing, Bainbridge was also filmmaker during a portion of the set using what looked like an old 8mm film camera. He brought up a fan who was spending her birthday at the show, and even grabbed a few cell phones out of the crowd and recorded video using fans cell phones. He also dedicated many of the songs to fans who he had met with earlier in the day and some even helped him pick out his outfit for the night. Mr. Jared Pellerin aka Pell opened the night with an energetic set that included a little bit of “guess that sample” with the crowd. Catch both Kindness and Pell tomorrow night at The Constellation Room in Santa Ana.
