After way too long, the mighty Flytraps have their real-deal debut album Wild Card slated for a spring release, and they’re kicking a hole in the first weeks of 2020 with this blown-out black-and-white video that looks like a scene from the film noir John Waters never made. “Female Of The Species” smashes together the atmosphere of the Cramps, the attitude of the Pandoras attitude and something like the still-potent vocal power of Darby Crash—check out bassist/vocalist Kristin Cooper, the female manimal—and of course it all ends with a scream that must’ve pushed the VU into the red. Wild Card will be out on Burger and Outro in a couple months—prepare or beware!
