TODAY! L.A. RECORD ART SHOW SNEAK PREVIEW @ A RROSE IN A PROSE (@ THE PICKLE FACTORY)
Want to see a sneak preview of the upcoming L.A. RECORD art show?
This month’s A Rrose in a Prose literary salon is happening TODAY, it’s FREE, it’s ALL AGES, and it’s at the Pickle Factory gallery–the very gallery where, today, you can be the FIRST to see music-inspired paintings and drawings by all the following L.A. RECORD artists in one place:
- Elsa Henderson
- Dave Van Patten
- Champoyhate
- Walt! Gorecki
- Zara Kand
- Aaron Giesel
But why focus merely on the visual? Come at 3 p.m., grab a slice of vegan pizza (a concept which is neither bourgeois nor hipster, so fuck you), and give your brains a much needed aural scrubbing in the form of literature, poetry, and verbal pizzazz by the following authors:
- Iris De Anda (CODESWITCH: Fires from Mi Corazon)
- Joe Wagner (Comedy Central)
- Chris Hess (SWIMM)
- Charlyne Yi (Helen Hunt & the Twisters)
- Steven Fleet
There’ll also be a few songs by L.A. RECORD’s own Geoff Geis. Host D. M. Collins will, once again, read a few dark and strange works, scored by the soundscapes of Cardoo. And, rumor has it, the ghost of H. P. Lovecraft himself will belch the alphabet.
Too tired to attend? The theme today is EXHAUSTION. If you’re running on fumes, you’re in the right room. Attendance is free, but the art will cost ya.
