“Coast to Coast” b/w “All the Girls in the World”

“All the Girls in the World” is not just an homage to the females of the species, it’s a nice blend of all pop songs about girls—I hear snippets of everything from “California Girls” to the Real Kids’ “All Kindsa Girls” to Cheap Trick’s “Summer Girls,” with the tempo and aggression pulled back for allowing your lazy summer day to get even lazier. But “Coast to Coast” is the hit here, a beautiful summer California tune that actually does kinda sound like exactly what their press materials claim it to be, the Beach Boys with a hint of Pavement, though I think the Paley Brothers, dBs, and Dwight Twilley might be equally apt comparisons. This is really just a teaser for their “summer” album coming later in May, and I consider myself teased. P.S. Is that the Best Coast font on those “Coasts” on the cover? I think it might be…
