VIDEO PREMIERE: NOT FROM ENGLAND “INTERRUPTED”
Despite the name, L.A.'s Not From England are actually pretty enthusiastic about musicians from England—this is not a "We Don't Need The English" situation—and you'll hear some of that in their Manchester-adjacent amen-break drumbeat and in those bluntly charismatic vocals that lift a little of Primal Scream's swagger. (And of course there's some Sonic Youth in that shock-you-awake intro, too.) This intensely motivated teenage quartet—guitarist/vocalists Cass Blum and Leo Blumenfield plus bassist DeRon Munroe and drummer Beckett Pasdar—started with home demos in the summer of 2018 and graduated to a 2019 EP recorded with FIDLAR drummer Max Kuehn, which is where "Interrupted" comes from.
