For those of you who like your music serious, the Wombats aren’t for you. Please stop reading now and go back to enjoying that new Interpol record that no one else appreciates. Ok, for those still reading: the Wombats will probably remind you a bit of British bands like the Arctic Monkeys, but listen closer and you’ll be reminded of when nerd bands were cool and dancing at rock shows was still a new thing. The music video for “Backfire At The Disco” features leotards, flashing disco lights, and roller skates. Maybe not original, but these guys look like they are having so much fun that I don’t really care. And the doot-doos are irresistible. Those of you in it for fun—don’t miss the Wombats and don’t be embarrassed to dance. They won’t be. Oh and speaking of dancing—please please check out the CSS remix of their first single “Kill The Director.” (KO)
