To me this band is a bunch of a white dudes trying to channel pfunk, or sly & the family stone in a good way.

PANDA BEAR – TOMBOY

This video of him playing it on Fallon is incredible [but sadly, we couldn't get it to post correctly so we had to pick another one...-.ed] The song lyrics “No you can count on me” are equally as beautiful.

KURT VILE – SMOKE RING FOR MY HALO

I’m a huge Kurt Vile fan, and this was a culmination of all my favorite songs of his from past records all in one album.

THE WEEKND – HOUSE OF BALLOONS

His first EP is by far better than anything else he’s put out, but it’s still so smooth.

LITTLE DRAGON – RITUAL UNION

I love the electronics on this record, and her voice is next level .

BRIAN WILSON – THE SMILE SESSIONS

To hear what’s going on in Brian Wilson’s head is incredible. It’s almost as if he was like 2 or three songwriterS in one person, and the real accomplishment was that he wrote the songs, produced them, and arranged them all himself. This album seems like it was originally intended as something of a Leonard Bernstein musical.

I think this record is great, and deserves more praise.
