Still dazed askew from their US tour, DC natives and godfathers of sludgy psych, Dead Meadow played a free homecoming show at some unheard of warehouse space in downtown L.A. to a few dozen of the band’s closest comrades. No Dead Meadow show would be complete without a dripping display of psychedelic oil light projections, wafting smoke, and a blown out P.A. (Okay, I made that last part up…The Orange amps were cranked but it sounded amazing). The boys jammed out variations of their new material from Old Growth and the classic Feathers, while the rest of us beat our heads in with the impossibility of how good this band is live—they kill it every time, and make it look like they’re not even trying. Truly one of the best live bands to see in Los Angeles.
