Dave Harvey is a petit guy with pastel colored hair (sometimes) and a dance style that could easily make him seem epileptic. He’s another one of those guys from San Luis Obispo who drank the funny water up there, and became a very talented guitar hero. He has since relocated to Olympia, and there he’s been spawning epic rock-n-roll in bands like the Tight Bros from Way Back When and Toad Liquor. Today, you can see Dave Harvey with his band Nudity. There’s no nudity in the stage show, but if you’re lucky, you can catch the guys wearing dashikis or some other random costume. Though this band’s fashion sense is bold, it’s the music that best represents them. Last year, Nudity played the Viper Room and it was so loud that the venue was evacuated. You’ll have a pleasant ringing in your ears from power jams that will propel you into ecstasy. I swear, I hold my breath all the way through the song “This Man” and only allow myself to exhale orgasmically at the end. Sometimes, the guitars climb higher and higher for over twenty minutes or more. It’s difficult to stand still. On tops of that, the live shows are infused with loops of a sitar. This is great psychedelic driving music!
