Last-minute tip from Part Time Punks/Punky Reggae DJ Mike Stock, who alerts us that Ari Up (of course of the Slits) will be visiting Punky Reggae Party tonight to sing full-on Jamaican soundsystem-style over selections by Stock and other part-time-punker Benny Shambles and Dub Club‘s Roy Corduroy and Boss Harmony. When Slits showed up at La Cita (for post-show dance party) it ended up being one of the top nights of 2007, so don’t skip an early wild evening in 2008. Also for those extremely dedicated types: it will be completely possible to visit both Ari at La Cita and L.A. RECORD at Charlie O’s a few blocks away. Maybe we’ll even make maps to hand out.
