Ah yes, Boogie Nights. An overly long drama about the porn industry, with girls on rollerskates, guys on coke, and girls on guys, plus Mark Wahlberg doing his best to butcher the “The Touch.” Look, it’s not worth describing a movie that all of us have likely seen at one time or another. We all know that the cast is classic and features key players in many of director Paul Thomas Anderson’s other flicks—John C. Reilly, William H. Macy, Heather Graham, Burt Reynolds, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and, of course, Mark Wahlberg as “Dirk Diggler.” The real draw here is that this is a once-in-a-lifetime screening: catch the flick right next to the venue that became Hot Traxx Disco for the film’s club shots. And while you’re stuck in the valley check out the Reseda Theater, the Donut Shop, and the area filmed for the Roller Girl limo scene—all featured in the film. Still not impressed? How about after the film actually partying in the same club that helped spawn the ambitious young Diggler? Hot Traxx Disco will return for one final night and will feature special guests including one infamous member from the film’s finale: while Wahlberg isn’t scheduled to appear, you may at least get to party with the lengthy prosthesis that let Boogie Nights’ protagonist find his stardom in front of a camera.
