VIDEO: KIT “OUT OF RUINS”

KIT just released this fun new video by director Steven Andrew Garcia in preparation for their upcoming European tour for the album Invocation, out now on Upset The Rhythm. We follow a predator-masked grunge rocker on a path of musical destruction through the streets of Los Angeles, with a guest spot from The Smell owner, Jim Smith. The video will screen publicly at the Echo Park Film Center on September 1st at 8pm alongside other music videos for bands including No Age and Yuck, by directors Michael Reich of Videothing and Ryan Reichenfeld. They gave us some neat behind the scenes shots, posted below the video, check ‘em out!

F YEAH / VIDEOTHING ALLEGEDLY BEATEN BY SECURITY

L.A. Weekly‘s Randall Roberts reports on F Yeah’s Phil Hoelting and Sean Carlson and Videothing’s Michael Reich’s involvement in an incident with security at the Radiohead show Monday night at the Bowl:

“They beat the shit out of him in front of a cop,” says Reich, “and the cop was like, ‘What do you mean? We didn’t see that.’” He adds that despite the officers witnessing Reich get hit by a car, they did not call an ambulance or offer any support.

Carlson, who had bore the brunt of the action, was screaming for help as the guards were trying to subdue him. “The cop told me to stop crying,” he recalls. As well, Carlson’s keys and cell phone ended up on the sidewalk, and alleges that witnesses watched as security guard took them. They haven’t been returned. He was handcuffed by the security guards and led away.

That’s the last time Carlson, Reich or Hoelting have seen the videotape. Carlson was taken back onto Hollywood Bowl property, and to a security tent. Hoelting and Reich starting texting people telling them of the incident that had just unfolded.
