I spent my gas/parking money to sit in the cold for nearly 4 hours and get a headache. Basically, the event should not have said that two bands were playing who did not even play. Only good news: 2,000 dollars were raised and donated to the earthquake/tsunami victims in Japan. Good Job, the Smell, you tricksters, you!

FYF gave us an amazingly line-up: Cold Showers, Catwalk, Austra, and Vivian Girls. This was Vivian Girls’ of Brooklyn’s first show in L.A. in over a year, according to bassist/vocalist Katy Goodman, so the show was crowded with devoted fans. The Smell usually offers $5 shows and, despite the raised price of $8, this one sold out quickly.
