The stage looked more like someone’s living room way out in the countryside, with afghans thrown over monitors, rugs, lamps, flower pots and a standing door through which Philadelphia’s Dr. Dog “entered.” This created a casual and warm feeling in the beautiful Orpheum Theatre. Originally scheduled at the Music Box, the audience was now restricted to seats. Crowd surfing and stage diving were not going to happen but that didn’t stop fans from standing the entire time and singing their hearts out.
