Sadly following in the footsteps of Cerritos’ much-missed Stacks Vinyl, FatBeats L.A. (and FatBeats New York) will be closing their physical locations very soon. FatBeats has contributed a lot to the music community here in Los Angeles and is something of a local institution, and thinking about just one last week to walk up those stairs off Melrose is a real downer. FatBeats will still operate a store on-line and release records—for ILL BILL, TruMaster and KRS-One, Black Milk and more. But there’s just under a week left to go visit. Here’s the grand finale:
