This skateboard video created by Eli Stonberg is dreamy, simultaneously fragmented and well-matched to the song “Pure” by San Francisco’s Blackbird Blackbird. It was filmed “on a rare rainy day in L.A.” with six tiny cameras attached to the body of skater Aryeh Kraus and three more cameras filming him from afar. Think about this while watching: if the camera is our eyes, then that makes his arm our nose.

Things went smoothly and art sold. The only catastrophe was a homeless man who came in opening night and shook up Lauren Lim’s ant farm like it was a magic eye. Those poor ants.

They called it C’est L’amour, and the residency ran February 6-20, witnessing music performances by Ohioan, Ah Holly Fam’ly, Semiconscious Gloria, Seasick, Pocahaunted, Moon Duo, Woolen, Tremblexy, Random Patterns, Alpine Decline, howardAmb, Vaginals, Missincinatti, and LA Fog, with a few special guests. Sketch comedy curated by Friends of the Family, the trio of Nick Barton, Greg Newman, and Alec Owen. A movie night with screenings by Andrew Huang, Ariana Nalate (Air), Nick Corvinus, Chris Frias, Anna Ayeroff, Elena Megalos, Ben Bigelow, and Eli Stonberg. Along the walls hung the artwork of Liza Epps, Lynde Low, Adam Stamp, Erina Digby, Peter Van Dyke, Billy Franevsky, Alex Pfender, Andrew Huang, Lauren Lim, Michal Carman, Alicia Papanek, Will Canzoneri, and Jonathan Smith. Many of which sold!
