Some bands are legends and some bands are entire civilizations—that’s Redd Kross, whose discography goes back to that first pre-cease-and-desist-call (always a promising sign) EP in 1981. At the Smell, the spectacle had the effect of a crooked Tetris game. At the Alexandria, I felt like I was inside Luke Skywalker’s helmet as he took down the Death Star. It was otherworldly.
