We miss TV of the past. That’s part of our generation. Grand Lake pays tribute to Pete & Pete with this nostalgic cover.

“There seems to be quite a bit of debate about what the actual lyrics are to this song are. I decided to sing the lyrics the way I remember them from childhood—so firstly, I left out the second verse, and secondly I sang the chorus “Hey Sandy, does your dog bite?” I also sing “It’s very strange” as the first line—because that’s what I always thought it was.” — Caleb Nichols, Grand Lake

Listen/Download: Grand Lake “Hey Sandy”(aka Pete & Pete Theme Song)

Grand Lake lives in Oakland and their new album Blood Sea Dream is out on Hippies Are Dead. The album is great. The title makes us think of menstruating and semen for purely phonetic reasons. Isn’t that funny?
