What Laura Says released its second album, Bloom Cheek, on Terpsikhore Records, last month, and this week the Arizona band brings its psych-inclined folkiness to 3 of Clubs in Los Angeles. We were told to pick any song from the album to post, and “Roll Some Coin” won the vote. The album has plenty of soft, cool, harmonies, relaxing moments, gypsy vibes, uplifting breaks, and provocative moods. This particular song has a groovy bass and gets funky then crunchy then funky again. That was most appealing at 6:25 am in the morning while meditating on these songs. “Roll Some Coin” has promising live potential. Rainbows will probably slink off stage in swirly clouds of smoke.
