Co-headlining a powerhouse of a tour, My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James finished off the night at the House of Blues Anaheim with sweeping guitar work and his trademark reverb-tinged vocals. James’ solo outing roared at full throttle right from the moment he stepped onto the stage with a full band and back-up singers, barely letting up the entire evening.
“I love Disneyland!” proclaimed Sean Lennon during a brief bit of banter alongside Les Claypool, his co-hort with The Claypool Lennon Delirium. While not discussing the finer bits of the greater Orange County area or Lennon joking about getting kicked out of Space Mountain, Claypool and Lennon delivered a dizzying explosion of spacey psychedelia through the shadows on stage while working through the band’s latest release, South of Reality.
