Aussie delight Alex Cameron, joined with “business partner” and saxophonist Roy Molloy, packed the pews and aisles of The Pico Union Project’s hallowed venue for a fantastic evening of music and stories.
The lanky singer-songwriter, channeling the smooth moves of Nick Cave and Beck, had fans dancing in place to his 80s influenced indie pop. Cameron and Molloy provided subtle laughs along the way, as the duo subtly recounted the childhood tale of meeting for the first time and commiserating being broke in adulthood. There was even a very important review and assessment of the venue’s wooden stool used by Molloy.
Another Aussie treat and touring keyboardist with Cameron was Holiday Sidewinder, who was a shining light in the darkness, delivering a captivating pop performance before later joining up Cameron and Molloy on their set.
