PARQUET COURTS + SNAIL MAIL @ THE NOVO

Brooklyn-based indie quartet Parquet Courts visited The Novo in “DTLA” (as guitarist Austin Brown enjoyed saying between songs) last evening. The band brought their wiry, funky, and distinctly New York sound for a show that heavily featured tracks off of their 2018 release Wide Awake!, like “Tenderness,” “Mardi Gras Beads,” “Before the Water Gets Too High,” “Total Football,” and “Freebird II.” Fans were also psyched to hear older tunes like “Dear Ramona” and “Bodies Made Of” from 2014’s Sunbathing Animal.
Snail Mail, the solo project of 19-year-old guitarist and singer-songwriter Lindsey Jordan, opened the show with a set featuring tracks off of her 2018 debut Lush.
