The Gorillaz held its 2nd annual Demon Dayz Festival right here in Los Angeles. Historic State Park? Expo Park? Staples Center? Nope. It was held at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena and Latin flair was everywhere. Diehards lined up since Friday night, securing their spots at the main stage. Damon Albarn is known for his collaborations and many artists played – Erykah Badu, DRAM, Little Simz, Tony Allen, and the Internet.

There were lots of things to keep patrons entertained, such as a welcoming mariachi band, a Corona beer tent, and live lucha libre. Gorillaz played an outstanding 30-song set, including songs from 2018’s The Now Now. Special guests DRAM, De La Soul, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Bootie Brown, Jamie Principle, Peven Everett, and the legendary George Benson all performed with the Gorillaz. Albarn and Jamie Hewlett had one last special special guest–Blur’s own Graham Coxon, playing Blur’s “Song 2.”
