Drips, okay buckets, of sweat poured on fans in the front of the stage at The Troubadour as John “Swami” Reis of Hot Snakes jumped, kicked and failed around the stage all the while shredding and used a few fans’ shoulders to prop his leg on as he and his crazy comrades Rick Froberg, Jason Kourkounis and Gar Wood (Mario Rubalcaba wasn’t on drum duty this night) played old favorites and new tunes from their latest creation, Jericho Sirens. Reis jokingly called out a few social media usernames that said some hurtful things. He thought they were friends. Hopefully, Angela170 was not in attendance.

A few people were there for Le Butcherettes because Teri Gender Bender puts on one hell of a show. They have had a few singles/EPs out this year – spider/WAVES and struggle/STRUGGLE. Although the set was short, TGB put in 110% of her energy and still had enough to give hugs to fans afterwards.

New on the scene, but word spreading that this is a “really good band,” is Cat Scan who are not only playing Desert Daze in October, but have a Monday night residence at The Echo in June. Don’t miss out.
