BUILT TO SPILL + THE AFGHAN WHIGS @ THE WILTERN THEATRE
Photos by Leslie Kalohi
Two indie rock powerhouses came together for a joint headlining stop at the Wiltern.
First up was the dark, heavy sounds of Afghan Whigs . Led by Greg Dulli’s intense, growling vocals, Afghan Whigs launched into song after song, including a host of covers in the bands 75 minute set. A massive wall of guitar, accentuated with melodic violin and keyboards, thrilled fans in attendance.
Built to Spill closed out the night with a fuzzy, stripped down set and Doug Martsch’s trademark, reedy voice.
