The Natural History Museum kicked off their opening First Fridays soiree of 2018 with a double whammy acoustic lineup of X members John Doe and Exene and a beautiful set from Phoebe Bridgers. Before enjoying the performances, we were treated to a DJ set from KCRW’s Anthony Valadez followed by DJ Reflex.

The angelically voiced Bridgers, who’s featured on the cover of our latest magazine issue, played a beautiful set featuring songs from her breakout debut album Stranger in the Alps. John Doe and Exene followed Bridgers with a set full of acoustic, energized folk renditions of X classics as well as some fun covers like Steppenwolf’s “Born to Be Wild” and bluegrass classic “Give Me Flowers While I’m Living.”

The Natural History Museum’s First Friday series continues through June, with performances scheduled for March 2nd, April 6th, May 4th, and June 1st. Also check out the Tattoo Exhibit before or after the show through April 15th.
