As The Dandy Warhols stepped on stage, Courtney Taylor-Taylor greeted Los Angeles. Before delving into the music, he welcomed everyone to come out to their hometown in Portland and check out their Christmas show on December 9th. It will be a cowboys and Indians-themed costume party-mentioning that Indians will be the cooler sets of costumes. Their charity of choice this year is the Oregon Alliance for Gun Safety.

After “Country Leaver,” Taylor-Taylor mentioned that they are half way through their latest album, which will be released next year. He admitted that it is unlike anything they’ve ever played before. In spite of that, he assured his fans that the music will still carry on The Dandy Warhols style they know and love.

The talents of Taylor-Taylor, Peter Holmstrom, Zia McCabe and Brent DeBoer permeated The Teragram Ballroom and filled our souls with the positive vibes that their music provides. It always feels like family when The Dandys come to town.

Opening up the evening was POW!, a synth-punk band delivering tracks from Crack and Egg released in February of this year.
