Death From Above @ The Novo

Those who wanted a little more action than the Laker game, were next door at The Novo rocking out to Death From Above. Sebastien Grainger and Jesse Keeler played some new tunes from Outrage! Is Now while Grainger may or may not have been fucked up on Nyquil. We had to give it our all as the crowd in Denver apparently were “high as shit and love rock n roll.”

There was some encouragement to use breath mints during “Trainwreck 1979” and for the last song, Keeler asked if we canted to hear “Pull Out” from their first album Your’re a Woman, I’m a Machine or “Right On Frankenstein” from The Physical World-which he said was more fun to play and longer. However, it didn’t convince the crowd. Fists were raised for “Pull Out.”

Supporting DFA on tour is another rocking Toronto band, The Beaches whose debut album Late Show is out now.
