WAND + LARS FINBERG + OLGA @ THE HI HAT

Sometimes a blue-ish cloud hanging over is a good thing. In the case of Wand, it’s not only their album art for Plum, but one was perched on an amplifier and provided light during their set at The Hi Hat as they wrapped up their tour. Wand started the set with “Setting,” the first track from Plum.
Cory Hanson (vocals/guitar), Sofia Arreguin (piano/moog/vox), Evan Burrows (drums), Robbie Cody (guitar) and Lee Landey (bass) played chaotic breakdowns during songs, soundling like each one was playing his/her own riffs out of rhythm–but by the end of the break, they would all seamlessly join back together for a beautiful ending.
Halfway through their show they brought out two people dressed in ridiculous duck outfits with one playing a saxophone. The ducks were stage diving and were trying to build up as much hype as they could while the band was performing. It was bittersweet seeing the two leave the stage. Wand played all of the songs off of Plum and an unreleased song as well, but the we still wanted more.
Lars Finberg of The Intelligence fame and Olga started the party.
