The Nashville guys from Moon Taxi were back in town. Although larger, the El Rey felt more intimate than the Troubadour show where they played here the last tour. Moon Taxi has a way of connecting with the crowd to make everyone feel like part of their musical family.

The show did become intimate when a mother and her group of 20+ friends were in front in honor of her daughter who passed away from cancer last year. Moon Taxi was her favorite band and vocalist/guitarist Trevor Terndrup made a special dedication to her.

Emotions continued but in a joyous direction as Moon Taxi brought out support band Too Many Zooz. Not too many support bands get applause that it usually par for the course for a headliner. Except Too Many Zooz. Must be seen and heard to believe.

Moon Taxi delivered a couple of sweet covers, including The Eagles’ “Hotel California” and John Lennon’s “Imagine.” The party ended with “All Day All Night.” A new album is on the horizon.
