With guitarist Igor Haefeli’s encouragement, the audience stood up from their seats while listening to the sensational trio Daughter play an hour and half long show at The Theatre at Ace Hotel. The band kicked off the set with the mild groove of “How” off their recently released album Not to Disappear. The new material is decidedly more intense compared to their debut album If You Leave. “Numbers” has plenty of bite with Remi Aguilella working the drum set pretty hard and “No Care” is manically upbeat. Fans of the earlier material definitely received their money’s worth with the haunting and pensive lyrics of “Smoother” and the tender melodies of “Shallows.” Elena Tonra’s angelic voice echoed throughout the cavernous theatre and mesmerized us with the sweet lullaby.

New York based Wilsen opened up the show with their dreamy and eerily beautiful song “Centipede.”
