Despite a mudslide on the 5 freeway almost preventing El Ten Eleven from playing at The Teragram Ballroom on Friday, Kristian Dunn and Tim Fogarty made it a little late, but we knew it would be worth it. On this latest tour, they have dealt with a broken van, a stolen laptop and hassles from cops, but they forge on to bring us some beautiful music.

For those who aren’t familiar with El Ten Eleven, they are an instrumental rock duo that is quite impressive. Dunn is a wizard at the doubleneck and bass guitar as he works his magic with heavy live (no tracks) looping and his effects pedals. Drummer Fogarty’s eyes are usually intense as he meticulously keeps in time with Dunn. They are one solid pair. Many who were there knew exactly what they were in for and are familiar with their latest album Fast Forward. The LA band recently opened for Peter Hook and The Light at The Roxy and have a song “Peter and Jack” which they dedicated to Peter Hook and his son, Jack. It was another mesmerizing evening of music from El Ten Eleven.

Sego has been on tour with El Ten Eleven and was glad to be home. They had a number of friends and fans in the crowd and lifted our spirits with some good ol’ upbeat rock.
