The support, love and community of musicians is unparalleled. When one falls, there are many who are there to help. With the Jameson Neighborhood Fund benefiting the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which provides financial assistance to musicians struggling to pay the bills while facing illness and disability, it wasn’t surprising that the tribute to the man himself, George Harrison, had to be moved from the El Rey Theatre to the Fonda Theatre. The many musicians willing to come out (for free) and contribute their time to play, as well as the demand for tickets to this extraordinary event could have been relocated to a much larger venue.
And you won’t believe this lineup. Brian Wilson, Norah Jones, George’s son Dhani Harrison, Ann Wilson of Heart, Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips, Britt Daniel of Spoon, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Nick Valensi of The Strokes, Butch Walker, Cold War Kids, Brian Bell of Weezer, Big Black Delta, Jamestown Revival, Perry Farrell and Stephen Perkins of Jane’s Addiction, Conan O’Brien, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Black Ryder, Ian Astbury, Brandon Flowers and Mark Stoermer of The Killers, Karen Elson, Ben Harper, and many many more.
And none of this could be possible without The Best Fest whose house band, The Cabin Down Below, plays at each and every Best Fest during the entire show.

I’m so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won’t you show me that you really care

Everybody’s got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to mine, and dream on

I’ve been uptight and made a mess
But I’ll clean it up myself, I guess
Oh, the sweet smell of success
Handle me with care
