RA RA RIOT + PACIFIC AIR + CAYUCAS @ THE EL REY THEATRE

The Ra Ra Riot that stood on stage this week at the El Rey was in a much sweeter spot than last year at the same venue.
Wes Miles (lead vox) said it was a crazy crazy time last year, after losing his voice and cancelling several shows accompanied by the departure of cellist and founding member Alexandra Lawn. And, well, they were afraid to play that show.
Cut to this week as the band stood on the same stage before a packed house. Not sure if Miles could see the faces in the crowd (he puts on glasses as he walks off stage), but if he could, he would have see smiles plastered on most of them or adoring fans singing along. It was good vibes all around.
Members Miles, Mathieu Santos (bass), Milo Bonacci (guitar/keys), Rebecca Zeller (violin/vox/keys) all contributed to the writing of the latest album Beta Love and it was evident as they played on stage that the musical family is tighter than ever.
Stepping off tour opening for Walk the Moon, LA’s Pacific Air (fka KO KO) immediately got another gig opening for Ra Ra Riot. Brothers Ryan and Taylor Lahorn and supporting band played catchy dream pop tunes like single “Float,” which you can hear at Moheak.com
If you are in school and deliver letters to a boy you like, he might end up writing a song about it. Cayucas started the night out with its surf sound.
