Many were anticipating the return of the Canadian band Stars to return to LA. And with a new album The North, the band came back and transformed the ancient-themed Mayan Theatre into a planetarium of sorts with disco balls. When lead signer Torquil Campbell gave the signal for THE giant disco ball to come from the top of the stage, the heavy dancing commenced. As the show ended, Stars raised their cups to the crowd. No Stars, thank you!
Canada’s electronic group Diamond Rings sparkled as they opened along with Chicago’s indie-pop California Wives.
