OC’s The Observatory played host to rising stars, The Lumineers, on Sunday night, marking the third sold out So. Cal. date on the band’s latest tour.
The Denver-based group has been much buzzed about as single “Ho Hey” still remains in constant radio rotation. The sound evokes an image of a flickering flame that warmly invites you closer.
Each of the eleven tracks from the self-titled debut were played to a very eager crowd, including a new, untitled song about falling in love. For the encore, the band journeyed into the heart of the audience and asked everyone to put away cellphones and remain as quiet as possible as they played without amplification.
The 75-minute set also included a handful of covers, and the evening concluded with a sing-a-long to The Band’s “The Weight” with a hand-selected fan and opening act Bad California Weather.

The show was absolutely awesome! They immediately got the crowd into the performance. Great voice, great musicians.
