The lights went down a few minutes before Santigold’s scheduled set time, much to the excitement of the sold out Club Nokia crowd. From the darkness emerged a costumed cast of “characters” and the immediate realization this would not be a typical concert.
Theatrical from the start, complete with costume changes and props during the course of the evening, Santigold kept the energy high and the mood fun. Her back-up dancers/singers, never removing their sunglasses, enhanced the joyous atmosphere. The choreography kept the duo and Ms. Santi White wrapped with a loose air of utter coolness.
Most notable was the infectious joy Santigold radiated, even welcoming fans onstage to her dance party early on in the night, much to the displeasure of the venue’s security guards.
