Introducing pot to her Mormon mom in her 50s when she developed cancer, tin foil as braces and dreams of a broken arm were just a few highlights of a night at the Hotel Cafe with singer/songwriter/guitarist Jesca Hoop. Hoop was in town filming the video “Hospital” for her new album The House That Jack Built. That voice, a guitar and the lovely Nicole Eva Emery (who has worked with Bob Dylan and Rickie Lee Jones) by her side were all that needed on the tiny stage. Photos by Debi Del Grande
