A chilly night greeted Florence & the Machine at the Santa Barbara Bowl, the first U.S. date in support of latest album, Ceremonials, which also came about on the eve of its first of two Coachella appearances.
Frontwoman Florence Welsh joked about the cold, remarking that she was lucky to have her catsuit on to keep warm. However, the brisk weather was a wonderful trade-off for the opportunity to play outside amongst the night sky and stars.
Not that she needed much assistance against the elements as she twirled back and forth about the stage. interacted with the audience by encouraging them to sing along, jump up and down, wave their hands, and get up on shoulders (if you happened to be of the female persuasion).
