IO Echo, A Place to Bury Strangers and The Big Pink kicked off their tour at the El Rey last night to a packed house. They all were sounding tight, dark and brilliant. IO, Leo and crew are magical. APTBS has a revamped set since the last tour  with songs from 2009’s [...]

Tenlons Fort played a record release show on Wednesday, March 3 at Syncronicity Space on Melrose to celebrate the release of their new LP Shelters. As always, Stab City rocked my freakin socks off, and left me with hematoma bruises on both my hips. With songs like, “Los Barboudos” and “The Psychic,” the L’Keg crowd was thrasing, falling, laughing, and possibly crying.
Aftergloam is a great band that is beginning to make some big noises in the L.A. [...]

On Princeton’s final night of their Spaceland residency, Castledoor played their last show with their current line up. Their performance was noticeably emotional especially for singer Nate Cole who flung himself about at times while at times slightly shifting a song’s lyrics.

Arrington de Dionyso is a sick Indonesian rock band. They’re a cross between a punk/metal and dark percussion and have dueling male and female vocals that create an eerie yet beautiful sound. The Icarus Line brought people West, way West, to The Roxy on February 25th. It can be weird being on the Sunset strip. right in the middle of the audience was a woman with an unfortunate boob job and a cowboy hat and outside the sidewalks were scattered with leopard and [...]
