The viper room oh fuck, forget about it. Maybe if you can tell them to keep the house music down low enough so people can talk. And maybe tell them to stop harassing me to buy over priced shitty drinks when I have already bought a few and paid ten or fifteen bucks to get in. I like to be able to drive home after seeing shitty music which is kinda all they have there. I hope they are next to close down. So many better venues out there, you guys are crazy. I am not sure what band would have to play there to get me to go, Maybe the Frogs, that’s it.

There is a real trend right now for local bands to only play The Smell. I think it is cool that The Happy Hollows and Gangi are breaking out of the mould and playing for the douches on the other side of town. I’ve only seen one show at the Viper Room, but it was loud. This should be entertaining. I know I’ll be there.

Gangi Rocks! I happen to live on the west side and am so excited to see them play at a venue closer to me for once! Their energy on stage makes their shows so much fun to see in person. Viper or not, Gangi will put on a great show! Anyone who hasn’t seen them before should plan to check out the show on Friday.

i think they are sort of annoying.

uh, these bands are annoying if you are a huge fan of rooney and current mtv and can’t take a dose of something more subversive. i like all kinds of music though. i love gangi and the happy hollows… but i also love everything from mariah carey to magik markers. just seems like you are more on the side of mariah carey than magik markers mmmkli. i recommend you expand your musical vocabulary. the viper room though? that venue does suck… but i guess i agree with above. cool that eastside bands are breaking out and playing other places.

I would like for someone to explain to me why it is good that bands are breaking out of the mould to play on another side of the town. I lived over there and loved it for quite some time. If I want to see a performance I don’t really care where it is. The point is as it stands the viper room (which I like to refer to as the diaper room) sucks. This is sad too because they have a very cool set up there for bands, sound system, curtain, all that jazz. That place could thrive in my mind but they are still part of the strip and they have lots of work to do. Also there are many more venues out there than the smell that bands like to play now, Echo Curio, Synchronicity, Show Cave, Women, persphace, l’keg and many many more. These places are much more pleasant venues for music to exist in.

yeah this is probably the most attention the viper room has got in a loooong time! they should be paying both bands more for the free promotion hahahaha!
